The Association of Retired Police Officers, Andhra Pradesh (ARPOAP) was formed following the bifurcation of the State, to bring together retired police officers of and above the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police from across Andhra Pradesh under a single, united forum.
The Founding
In the years following the reorganisation of the State, senior retired officers came together with a shared resolve — that the collective strength, experience and fellowship of the retired police fraternity should not be lost, but organised into a body that could support its members and speak on their behalf.
First Steps
On 14 October 2015, the first Executive Committee meeting was held at Vijayawada, presided over by Dr C.R. Naidu, IPS (Retd). The meeting took several foundational decisions: to bring out a State Association telephone directory, to enrol retired officers across the districts as members, to form District Units wherever they had not yet been established, and to raise a corpus fund from the membership to sustain the Association's welfare work.
The State Association office was formally inaugurated on 20 December 2015, giving the Association a permanent home from which to coordinate its activities across Andhra Pradesh.
Growth Across the State
Over the following years, the Association established a network of District Units across the State — Anantapur, Guntur, Kurnool, Nellore, Tirupati/Chittoor, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, West Godavari and Kadapa — each bringing the Association's support and fellowship closer to its members. Through regular meetings, welfare initiatives, commemorative events and community activities, ARPOAP has grown into a respected forum that continues to serve the welfare, dignity and fellowship of retired police officers and their families.
