The Association of Retired Police Officers, Andhra Pradesh (ARPOAP) was formed following the bifurcation of the State, to bring together retired police officers of and above the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police across Andhra Pradesh.

On 14 October 2015, the first Executive Committee meeting was held at Vijayawada, presided over by Dr C.R. Naidu, IPS (Retd). The meeting resolved to bring out a State Association telephone directory, enrol retired officers across the districts as members, form District Units wherever they were not yet formed, and raise a corpus fund from members.
The State Association office was inaugurated on 20 December 2015. Over the following years the Association established District Units across the State — Anantapur, Guntur, Kurnool, Nellore, Tirupati/Chittoor, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, West Godavari and Kadapa — and has continued to serve the welfare and fellowship of its members.
